Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has named Lionel Messi as the greatest player that he has seen play.

Musiala chose Cristiano Ronaldo in second place, with a Barcelona legend in third place and a former Real Madrid star in fourth. A striker who represented both Barcelona and Real rounds off the top five. Two of the players in Musiala's top five were team-mates for Brazil.

21-year-old Musiala, who has been linked with Manchester City and his former club Chelsea, admitted that it was difficult to decide who to choose.

Asked with Bayern basketball star Serge Ibaka on How Hungry Are You? for the top five players he has seen play, Musiala said: 'Ronaldo, Messi, you can put Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane in there. Old Ronaldo, the Brazilian Ronaldo.'

Ronaldinho produced many magical moments during his time at Barcelona between 2003 and 2008, with the Brazilian renowned for his flair.

Zidane, meanwhile, played for Real between 2001 and 2006 before previously starring for Juventus.

Ronaldo represented Barcelona earlier in his career and later went on to excel for Real Madrid, while he also represented Brazil alongside Ronaldo.

Musiala was previously asked for his top five players of all time including those that he didn't see play.

He said: 'You have Messi and Ronaldo, 1 and 2.'

Iconic former stars Pele and Diego Maradona were also included in Musiala's top five.

He also elected to include one player who he has heard a lot about since joining Bayern.

Musiala included Gerd Muller in his top five, with the striker having scored over 500 goals for Bayern Munich, while he netted 68 goals in 62 games for West Germany.

Muller holds the Bundesliga scoring record with 365 goals in 427 games.

He said: 'It's tough for me to say some names because I didn't watch them play. It was before my time. If you're talking about names and who you've heard, you'd say Pele, you'd say Maradona and you can even say Gerd Muller from Bayern Munich.'
