Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has revealed his desire to stay at Real Betis following a successful loan spell this season. However, his £100,000-a-week wages are proving to be a hindrance to him staying back at the club.
The Spanish right-back has made 32 appearances for his home-town club this term and helped guide Betis to a fifth-placed La Liga finish and a Copa del Rey victory.
Marca reported that the 27-year-old was in tears following his final game for Betis. He is scheduled to move back to Arsenal, where he still has one year left on his current deal.
The Evening Standard has claimed that Betis are keen to keep the full-back, but his high wages are blocking the move.
Bellerin is set to hold talks with Arsenal regarding his future when he returns to the club where he came through as a youngster from the academy. He will face competition to break into Mikel Arteta's side from the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares and Ainsley Maitland-Niles upon his return.
The Spaniard has made 239 appearances across competitions for the Gunners, scoring nine goals and giving 29 assists.

It's fair to say Bellerin has enjoyed his stint away from north London. Following his final Betis game, the Spaniard wrote on Instagram (as quoted by the Evening Standard):

Bellerin is a Gunner and will always be a Gunner he is coming back he never fought with Arteta who gave him permission to go to Betis it has done him good and he is going to prove himself this coming season, I bet he will extend his contract with Arsenal.
I wouldn't bet on that

Bellerin was a regular starter during Arsene Wengers reign but things changed when Emery took over before his successor Arteta who then loaned him to Betis but honestly Berllerin is far better than Cedric Soares and if i were the mananger i would sell Cedric and make Berellin my back up to Tomiyasu exchanging them from game to game rather than to let him go to Betis permanently

that's not it. Bellerin was no more performing and coupled with several injuries. Again he did want to be on bench when it was obvious Maitland Nile was doing better in that position. you people always see it as if a coach hate the player

Bellerin wanted to leave, waste of time keeping players who dont want to be at the club. I can imagine the toxic atmosphere if he and Torreira comes back given how they talked about the club
that is not a point...agent is forcing free/release of him..then other clubs pick him on free to dish out fat salary..

so, his strategy is for Arsenal to subsidize his wages? Arsenal should put him to the bench to rot.look at Ozil his football was done if u put salary first..
