AC Milan chief Paolo Maldini was happy for son Daniel Maldini after his goal on the weekend.
Maldini, on-loan with Spezia from Milan, scored against his parent club in the 2-1 defeat.
His father said on Monday: "It was written that Daniel would score against Milan. I tried, with the help of (Adriano) Galliani, not to have emotions. As a father, obviously I was really happy."
Asked about the growth of Milan's academy, he continued: "It is important. I had a dazzling start to my career; it seems I never had ups and downs, never had doubts, but instead I was very young, there was a lot of pressure, I was not ready and structured.
"I remember very well who followed me and the words that were said to me in difficult moments; now we forget to do it: we give these guys a lot of responsibility when very young."
