Talented Manchester United youngster Joe Hugill has signed a new two-year deal with the option of extending for an additional year.
The 20-year-old striker joined the club's academy from Sunderland in 2020 and has since impressed enough for a number of senior team call-ups.
Most recently on the bench for United's FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic on Monday, Hugill has regularly trained with Erik ten Hag's first team, and featured during the club's pre-season friendlies.
Hugill scored in the 2-0 victory against Leeds, which also featured a goal from fellow academy talent Noah Emran.
Last season, Hugill saw action with National League side Altrincham on loan, after being part of Man United's FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2022.
The new terms of Hugill's deal will keep him at the club until 2026, when the club have an option to trigger a year-long contract extension.

Hojlund is 20 years old as well. Why not trying Hugill out as well to see which one is gonna work out for you tactics? That’s how to see something promising. If Antony doesn’t work out, then you have the right to try other players in his wing. It’s all about the coach’s tactics. ETH signed two goalkeepers as well. Onana keeps making mistakes and he can’t even try the second goalkeeper. Is it about being bias? To me, it’s just a waste of money when you know you won’t even use the second goalkeeper in a game like FA cup. Yet, everyone keep bouncing on the Glazers as if ETH haven’t spent over £400m since he came, signing mediocre players. Not even up to 2 years. You’re doing that as a coach and you expect other players not to fume about it? What happen to double standards? It’s obvious Antony is not a Man UTD player and yet you can’t push a player like Pellistri to start. Double standards my foot.
