Eight sides remain in contention in the 2023-24 Saudi King’s Cup as Cristiano Ronaldo’s side face fellow Riyadh outfit Shabab.

After a lethargic start to the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr have turned things around and currently occupy second place in the table trailing leaders Al Hilal by seven points.

Thoughts momentarily for the Riyadh club turn to the domestic cup as they prepare for Monday’s King’s Cup quarter-final clash as they make the short journey within the Saudi capital of Riyadh to face Al Shabab. The team coached by Igor Biscan lie in eleventh place in the Saudi Pro table and will need to be at their best to secure a place in the last four having being beaten comprehensively (4-0) by Al Nassr in the league meeting last September.

In the previous round, Al Shabab recorded a 1-2 away win over Al Fateh with Al Nassr having to overcome Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq side with an extra time Sadio Mane strike securing cup progress in a game where the men from Riyadh were forced to play with ten men following Talisca’s red card in the 45th minute.

The game between Al Shabab and Al Nassr will be played on Monday, 11 December, with kick off at 19:00 (CET) 11:00 am (ET) / 08:00 a.m. (PT).
