Alphonso Davies is closer to a Real Madrid move next summer, according to a Spanish report which claims the Canadian international is willing to leave Bayern Munich next year.

Considered one of the world's best full-backs, Davies, who turned 23 on Thursday, has been part of the set-up at Bayern since 2018, making his club debut in January the following year.

However, it is thought that he is considering ending his time in Munich in 2024, a year before his contract ends, and joining Real Madrid, who have intensified talks with Davies' agent Nedal Huoseh in recent weeks.

Spanish outlet AS report on the latest developments in the deal, with Real looking to reinforce one of their weakest areas on the pitch.

Bayern has repeatedly tried to renew Davies' contract, without success, and signed Raphael Guerreiro last summer in case the Canadian international did leave, although the Portuguese player has not yet usurped Davies due to injury issues.

The German club have set a €50m (£43.4m) price on their star defender, although Mail Sport has previously revealed that Real Madrid think that price could come down to around £34m because of the short time left on his Bayern deal.

Bayern's general director Jan-Christian Dreesen, the executive who was the main man behind the summer signing of Harry Kane, will be in charge of setting the Canadian's asking price, and will be wary that he could leave for nothing in 2025.

Davies has started all nine of Bayern's league matches so far, and chalked up three assists from defence in that time.

Real Madrid have a history of luring Bayern Munich stars on cut-price deals, having signed club legend Toni Kroos for £22m in 2014 and Austria international David Alaba on a free transfer two years ago.

The Spanish giants climbed to the top of LaLiga last weekend, after edging out Barcelona 2-1 in the El Clasico battle, thanks to a second half brace from English superstar Jude Bellingham.

In June, Davies made the sensational claim that Barcelona's president rejected a move for him because he's Canadian.

He said: 'Barcelona actually reached out but the president said they didn’t want me.

'They said they didn’t want me because I was Canadian. I’m not gonna lie that kind of crushed my feelings a little bit.'

Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening, whilst Real Madrid face a LaLiga test at home to Rayo Vallecano.
