Alvaro Cervera's frank admission after beating Barcelona and Real Madrid

Cadiz are certainly causing a stir back in LaLiga Santander. The newly promoted side picked up their second major scalp of the season on Saturday, beating Ronald Koeman's Barcelona at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza.

Earlier this campaign, Alvaro Cervera's side were victorious over LaLiga Santander champions Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, so Saturday's win over Barcelona was no fluke, although it was their first win at home in five months.

A hallmark of both of these standout victories is the fact that Cadiz have had very little possession in either, making the most of their few chances in front of goal instead.

"I don't feel proud," Cervera admitted after beating Barcelona. "I'd like my teams to go toe to toe with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Atletico Madrid beat us by four goals.

"My mission is to make sure Cadiz survive and it's a coincidence that the games in which we've defended best, we've won. I knew we had to defend today, that we had to stop them getting into the box easily and that's how it was.

"No team in the division forces you [to defend] as much as Barcelona or Real Madrid. We knew that it was all about defending today. Other times, we're punished for not having the strengths that others have but, when we do what we know how to do, which is to defend, we're alright. But let no one think [we're focusing on] anything else other than staying in the league."
