Nicolas Pepe joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019 from Lille.
The Gunners paid a staggering £72m to bring the Ivorian to north London.
And though a player of course has no control over his price-tag, to say that Pepe has since failed to come anywhere close to justifying such a fee would be putting it lightly.
Both Unai Emery, who has made public that he in fact wanted to sign Wilfried Zaha over Pepe, and Mikel Arteta, have struggled to get the best out of the gifted wide-man.
Pepe would have a bright end to the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, which saw him net five in his last three league outings of the season.
However, he has since so far struggled to emulate that form during the new season.
He would score one and assist one vs a very weak West Brom side in the League Cup. But Pepe’s displays in the PL this term have been nothing to write home about.
Pepe’s toughest Premier League opponent
Regardless, Pepe has now notched close to a century of appearances for the Gunners, with 63 of those outings coming in the Premier League.
This has seen Pepe face pretty much every top full-back in the league currently. And now, the 26-year-old has moved to name his toughest PL opponent.
As per the Mirror, when pressed on who his toughest opponent in the Premier League has been thus far, Pepe told Amazon Prime Video that it was Manchester United right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, stating:
“I really enjoy watching him play. I would say Wan-Bissaka. I think he is very strong in both areas.”

Be quiet, and learning to read. As a matter of fact go study football, or pay me and I may consider devoting some of my valuable time to your education. FYI I said ESR under performed in the match against Burnley, which he clearly did and was removed as a consequence. As for Pepe he is a quality baller but Arteta hasn't figured out how to bring his quality out. Regards Tierney be has always been a paperweight Tavares is better as a player in the left wind back position. But what Tierney does have that he didn't use against Burnley nor has he utilized for some time now is his ability to put quality crosses into important areas. If he was doing that I could forgive him getting beaten so easily most of the time.
Even Saka was woeful yesterday

Peep can't answer that question with any degree of honesty, for if he did he'd have to say they are all difficult as he never seems to take on and beat any one of them. Rating his performance against Burnley Pepe gets a 3! Way under par! And he wasn't the only one, £50 million Ben White 3, £45 million Partey 3, £27 million Tierney 3, New contract extension and new number 10 ESM 3. All woefully under par performances. Arsenal are carrying too many paper weights that are proving very expensive.

omo you clearly dont know football well if you think esr and Tierney have been below par. who carried the team last season? if you dont know maybe you should watch the matches again when Esr was introduced to first team football in December when we were battling relegation. You can slander Pepe all you want but the young guns have done nothing wrong so far to be called below par.

What a waste of funds to sign him. Selfish and easily losing ball. He thinks he will be scoring goals for Arsenal. Should offload him along with Arteta
