Valencia goalkeeper Neto has been identified by Arsenal as a possible replacement for the retiring Petr Cech.
Gunners boss Unai Emery will need a new No 2 as Cech will retire after Arsenal's Europa League final against Chelsea.
According to Marca, Neto is Emery's ideal choice despite having David Ospina scheduled to return from a loan with Napoli at the end of the season.
On Sunday, Plaza Deportiva reported that Arsenal had even made contact with Neto's representatives to see if he would think about a move to London but the Gunners would need to step up their wage offer after initial talks.
The Spanish publication added that Neto has a release clause of 80million euros (£70m) which could provide Arsenal with a stumbling block, especially if they do not return to the Champions League by winning the Europa League final next week.
As Sportsmail reported in February, failure to return to European football's most prestigious club competition will likely leave Emery with a budget of around £45m to work with in the summer.
Neto has played 47 times for Valencia in their 2018-19 campaign and even played against Arsenal in the Europa League semi-final, where Emery's men ran out 7-3 aggregate winners.
The 29-year-old also won his first Brazil cap last September with an appearance in their 5-0 friendly win against El Salvador.
Neto would likely want assurances over first-team football with Bernd Leno Emery's first choice for the Premier League in 2018-19, but the Spaniard has rotated and used Cech for their European fixtures.
