Arsenal could bring Gnabry back to club in £63m transfer from Bayern

ARSENAL have reportedly been linked with a shock move to bring Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry back to the Emirates.

The 26-year-old came through the Gunners' academy where he won the FA Cup in 2014, but left two years later due to a lack of game time.

But the Germany international has never shied away from his love for the club, as shown when he wore an Arsenal shirt during a Bayern conference call in 2020.

And he has been at it again this week by posting a picture of himself modelling a retro Arsenal shirt on Instagram.

During a 2019 interview with club fan Chunkz for Pro:Direct Soccer, Gnabry declared he is: "Always a Gunner."

Speaking of his exit, he added: "As I said, it was the hardest decision but, in the end, I think it worked out well. But, as a club, Arsenal are top.”

And with the player failing to agree terms on a new deal at the Allianz Arena with his contract set to expire in 2023, Arsenal have been linked with a move for the forward.

Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that the ex-West Brom loanee has a 50 per cent chance of extending his stay with talks at a standstill.

According to Football.London, the three-time Bundesliga champion has unfinished business in North London.

They state that the player is valued at around £63million, with Arsenal expected to once again invest heavily in the summer.

And should the club secure a Champions League spot for next term, they could look to tempt Gnabry in joining their project.

It has even been stated that a potential transfer is not all that unlikely.

Gnabry has once again impressed for Bayern this term having been directly involved in 22 goals from 31 games in all competitions.

He has found the back of the net on 13 occasions, while he has also provided nine assists.
