Arsenal target Eduardo Camavinga 'tells Rennes he wants to join PSG'

Eduardo Camavinga has reportedly told Rennes that he wants to leave the club this summer in order to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The 18-year-old, who is also a France international, is being tracked by Europe's elite, with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all interested in signing him.

Following reports PSG sporting director Leonardo 'viewed the teenager as the future of the midfield', Camavinga now has his heart set on joining the Parisian club and has told Rennes that he wants to be sold this summer, according to RMC Sport.

The report goes on to claim that Camavinga has told his current employers that he will not sign a contract extension, with his current deal due to expire next summer.

His reluctance to do so is in the hope that he can force through a move once the window reopens in June.

Camavinga and Rennes have been in talks for months now over the possibility of extending his current deal beyond 2022, but the youngster's mammoth wage demands and signing bonus was considered as 'exorbitant' by the club, RMC Sport adds.

While Rennes' hopes of keeping the midfielder for a few more years is now dead in the water, the Ligue 1 side are demanding £100million for Camavinga, despite the fact he can leave on a free in a year's time.

RMC Sport claim that Rennes believe this is a fair price given how Camavinga is projected to be one of the world's best players in a few years time.

With negotiations for Camavinga starting at a high price, Rennes owner Francois Pinault, who is the 27th richest man in the world, is said to be personally monitoring the situation and is setting the player's price that high as a matter of principle.

Pinault is also hoping to spark a bidding war, especially given how much interest the player is getting from a number of Premier League clubs.

Camavinga's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has claimed they have already received 'a lot of offers from top clubs', given his sky-high potential.

'Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones,' Barnett told SNTV, as reported by Goal.

'I mean top, top clubs. We don't want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age.

'Playing in a good club is nice for him. It might be this year, or he wants to have another year. He has got to talk to his family, his father. We will all sit down and decide. We will talk to Rennes as well and decide. There is no rush for him.

'He's probably the best young player in the world. He has just turned 18. He has already been a French international. He's an unbelievable talent. He could play in any team in the world. He is still going to be a great talent at 19. It's not that old you know, 19.'

Speaking to Telefoot recently, Camavinga tried to keep his feet on the ground amid the frenzy that surrounds his future.

'It makes you feel flattered and it's nice that teams like Real Madrid or Bayern are interested in your situation,' he said.

'I'm not going to lie, but I have not yet thought it over with my family.'
