Bernardo Silva would like to leave Manchester City this summer despite recapturing his best form for the club last season, according to reports.
The 26-year-old scored five goals and laid on nine assists as City reclaimed the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final in 2020-21.
The report claims Silva was left 'crestfallen' after a move to Barcelona hit a snag late on despite everything looking set to go through during last summer's transfer window.
But the Portugal international's attempts to leave could be frustrated by boss Pep Guardiola, who is keen to retain him as part of his squad ahead of the defence of their Premier League crown in 2021-22.
The Catalan boss has been impressed with the midfielder's recent performances and application for City, which have come despite a reported desire to leave.
Atletico Madrid have also been linked with a move for the City star - who has another four years remaining on his contract after signing fresh terms in March 2019 - in a swap deal with Saul Niguez.
Silva joined City from Monaco in 2017 in a £43million deal, and has gone on to score 35 goals in 201 appearances and win three Premier Leagues and an FA Cup during his time at the club.
The Portuguese is set to be involved at Euro 2020 on Tuesday when his country begin their campaign against Hungary in Budapest.
But his City future is not the only one to be shrouded in uncertainty, with fellow attacking star Raheem Sterling set to discuss his future after playing for England at Euro 2020.
The England star notched his first major tournament goal on Sunday, scoring the winner in the euphoric win over Croatia at Wembley.
Sterling's future at City is under a degree of uncertainty following a difficult season at the Etihad Stadium in which he lost his place as a first-team regular.
He has entered the final two years of his deal with the Premier League champions with City eager to clarify his long-term plans.
It is understood the club are open to offering him an extension on his current £300,000 per week wages - but if a new deal is not achievable City will have no option but to consider letting him leave the club.
