Gareth Bale risked further wrath from Real Madrid fans after appearing to make a 'binoculars' gesture on the bench during his side's 2-1 win at Granada.

The victory moved Real Madrid four points clear at the top of LaLiga with just two games to go for what would be Bale' second league title in seven years at the club.

However, the winger courted more controversy on Monday having been heavily criticised for pretending to fall asleep with his mask over his eyes during his side's win at home to Alaves on Friday.

Following the incident on Friday, Spanish newspaper Marca labelled the Welshman 'shameful'.

They later published the headline: 'Bale's image "a la Faubert": His worst photo as a Real Madrid player?'

Bale has started just 12 games this season and has not featured in any of Real's last four matches as his club close on the league title.

The Welshman's last appearance came on June 24, in a 2-0 win at home to Mallorca when he was replaced by Isco after 71 minutes.

The latest snub by Zinedine Zidane is a clear indication that the Frenchman does not consider Bale part of his plans going forward at the Bernabeu.

Ferland Mendy and Karim Benzema had put the visitors ahead early on before Darwin Marchis' second-half strike ensured a nervy finish to the match.
