Gareth Bale endured another evening to forget as Real Madrid were beaten 1-0 by Barcelona in El Clasico on Saturday night.
The Welshman was jeered by a baying Bernabeu crowd as he was substituted in the second half with the Catalan giants a goal to the good thanks to Ivan Rakitic's strike before the break.
It was enough to seal all three points for Ernesto Valverde's men and effectively end Los Blancos' title challenge with Real now 12 points behind table-topping Barca.
Bale's stay in the Spanish capital is rumoured to be coming towards an end due to his struggles with form and fitness over the last couple of years.
The forward has just 13 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions so far this term and the emergence of youngster Vinicius Junior has left his place in the starting XI in jeopardy.
Bale arrived in Madrid for £90million in the summer of 2013 - but Real will take a big hit on that sum if they sell in the summer - according to latest figures.
Transfermarkt, a website dedicated to football number crunching, now places Bale's current market value at £63million - almost £30million less than the fee they shelled out six years ago.
He has been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United and a fairytale return to Tottenham .
Despite recent struggles, Bale's time in Madrid can only be deemed a success given the haul of trophies he has collected since making the switch to the Bernabeu.
He has won one league title, one Spanish cup and four Champions Leagues, including picking up Europe's biggest prize in each of the last three seasons.
Bale scored a sensational overhead kick in last year's final against Liverpool in Kiev before adding a second from long range as he picked up man of the match as a substitute.
His most prolific season with Real was his first, finding the net on 22 occasions.

The Madrid fans are the worst in world football. He won the league and FOUR Champions Leagues for RM and you treat him like trash. In every other club in Europe the fans would adore him forever because of his success their. This is why Barcelona will always be the people's club throughout Europe not RM because there club and fans lack class...

Gareth Bale the one who score twice in UCL final vs Liverpool in just 30 minutes play. One of his goals is overhead kick that is stunning than Ronaldo but not in Puskas shortlist instead Salah goals that everyday I see.He also score solo goals in Final vs Barcelona 2014 with a crazy run.But his achievement is easily be forgetting by the fan because he didn't receive so much love.He is just an unlucky guy.

hoping that MU dont buy bale.his injury record coupled with big transfer will only jeopardise MU.Hoping that MU remember how big of a mistake that they've done when they bought alexis sanchez from under man city noses..with what happen thus far the fans and the board are regretting the decision they've made with sanchez..hoping that they not do the same with bale..

Let me just rephrase this.. Real Madrid are selling a Welsh beast who has scored tons of screamers, incredible free kicks in important fixtures, 2 goals in 30 minutes in champions league FINAL to win them ucl. But of course, if they can sell Ronaldo they can sell anyone.

I'm not sure why any PL team would want him. He's made it clear that he doesn't want to return, so reluctantly coming back with a huge salary is hardly going to endear him to his team-mates. Could end up being an even worse situation than Sanchez.

Ungrateful Madrid fans were at their worst last night jeering Bale as the Welshman came off the pitch , don't know if Bale has ever had a happy moment at Bernabeu as fas his relationship with fans is concerned , with this type of treatment repeating itself every now and then, guess its high time Bale take a drastic decision to find peace somewhere else, he's just a second class citizen at Bernabeu despite his heroics .
