Sky Sport Italia reports Sassuolo star Kevin-Prince Boateng is on the verge of joining Barcelona in a shock move.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Barca have identified Boateng as ‘the right man’ to strengthen their forward line this month.
Consequently, the Catalans would have reached ‘an agreement in principle’ to take the 31-year-old on ‘an expensive loan with an €8m option to buy’.
The former Milan attacker only joined Sassuolo from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and has gone on to score five goals in 15 appearances.

He already has experience of Spanish football with Las Palmas, where he netted 10 times across 28 games in La Liga.
Barca, for their part, are in the market for attacking reinforcements after losing Paco Alcacer to Borussia Dortmund, while Ousmane Dembele is out for several weeks and Malcom has been linked with a move away.

it's like some of you don't Understand something hear.....Barcelona is looking for a backup at the moment not a striker who will replace Suarez but a backup who can play when Suarez is needed some rest so all those saying why Barcelona is signing Boateng should stop talking and know that the club is signing him as a backup for now so that at the end of the season Barcelona can sign a striker who can replace Suarez so Boateng is not coming to replace Suarez but a backup to Suarez for the reminder of the season

Don't judge a signing based on its cover. Vidal and Paulinho proved how good they could be if given the chance due to their great character. Boateng is known for his great character and will only be here on loan. If he's bad, he'd just stay on the bench like Munir used to. Also don't forget when Boateng basically ended Keylor Navas and Real Madrid back at Las Palmas. He has La Liga experience and honestly it's better than spending 40M and rushing on players that might not succeed.

This guy is a strong player very good on holding the ball at his feet also his height is an advantage I guys we all have to read stuff before jumping an talking about why and why first of all he is coming on a loan deal and we have to understand it takes a very good person to accept this offer to come and play second fiddle inside a team all other players want to play so let us just ride our asses off the guy and the board for once and try and learn some sense by the end of the season we go all in and buy a long term striker to replace squares this is just command sense not rocket science I like the signing he is very strong good height welcome to Barca.
