Freshly minted Golden Boy Pedri has attracted the interest of Bayern Munich, who are ready to make a club record bid of over €80m for the Barcelona midfielder.
Barcelona made an announcement that the club’s fans had been hoping for on 14 October, when the club confirmed that Spain midfielder Pedri had signed a contract extension through to 2026 with a buy-out clause of €1 billion. In theory, that should serve to put off any club in the world from attempting to turn the head of the 18-year-old, who cost Barça a mere €5m from Las Palmas when his move was finalized in 2020.
However, AS has learned that Bayern Munich have made the freshly minted Golden Boy a priority target and are prepared to break their club record of €80m paid for Lucas Hernández to test Barça’s resolve, as well as offering the player four times his Camp Nou salary.
Bayern hoping to tempt cash-strapped Barcelona
And Bayern are not going to hang about. The Bavarian giants are planning to launch their bid in January to stave off interest from other clubs, tabling an offer that cash-strapped Barcelona will not be able to shrug off lightly as Xavi prepares for his Camp Nou rebuild next summer.
However, given Pedri’s rapid rise, status as an international and the latest winner of the Golden Boy Award, it will not be a decision taken lightly by the Barça board, nor one that will go down well with the club’s fans who have adopted the teenager as one of their own.

I don't think Bayern are that clueless to spend such large some of money... the kid is good but Bayern have a slightly different transfer policy from other European teams.

Not less than 120m. He is just so good and only 19 years old.
It will be good for the boy to leave, Barcelona don't know how to use young players.
