Barcelona approach PSG over Neymar transfer on Messi recommendation (RMC)

Barcelona made an approach to PSG last week for Neymar, but President Al Khelaifi issued a hands-off warning, according to RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi.

According to RMC Sport, Barcelona did exactly that this week and approached Paris Saint-Germain about the possibility of re-signing the Brazilian.

Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona in recent months, after he announced in a vlog his intentions to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

But Lionel Messi has reportedly told Barcelona to avoid signing the France international and bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp instead.

However, PSG president Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi has issued a hands-off warning, telling the Catalan club he is not for sale.

Neymar has endured a start-stop season in France, hampered by injuries.

So much so that the world's most expensive player is no longer considered the top boy at PSG, with his team-mate Kylian Mbappe stealing his crown.

He's also failed to perform on the biggest stage of them all - the Champions League - since his transfer from Barcelona.

For the past two years PSG have been dumped out of the competition in the last-16 stage, seeing them fall way short of expectation.
