Barcelona will sign Getafe striker Angel as the emergency substitute for Ousmane Dembele if they are allowed to bring in a replacement.
The club has lost Luis Suarez for four months and with Dembele facing a lay-off until the end of the season they are in desperate need of reinforcements.
Angel has nine league goals this season in only six starts. He tends to come off the bench for high-flying Getafe in La Liga.
He also has three goals in four starts in the Europa League. Getafe's Champions League aspirations will be severely dented if the lose their 32-year-old forward now.
Dembele’s injury leaves Barcelona with just Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and 17-year-old Ansu Fati.
They can only sign a player who is playing in Spain or who is currently unemployed. And whoever they sign he will not be able to play in the Champions League.
That has left the club with few options but Angel has emerged as the player who will come in if Barcelona are given the go-ahead.
‘I’ve had set-backs all my career,’ said Barcelona coach Quique Setien when asked about the lack of resources. ‘I know all clubs have problem but I have to concentrate on the football.’

Just imagine what Abidal has put this club into. even if we do sign he still can't play UCL the most important cup . and we will go into UCL without backup strikers ... When he was supposed to sign players he was busy play games. God help us out
