Bayern Munich have announced that blue will no longer feature on their home kit after discussions with fans.
In recent seasons, the colour has been added to their first-choice strip, but the club's supporters have complained as blue is the primary colour of main rivals Munich 1860.
Their latest kit features blue shorts and blue trim on the socks and shirt. Previous attire, including the 2014-2015 strip, had several vertical stripes along the shirt, at the time a big break from tradition.
Supporters' groups have also complained about the club's green away kit and third jersey in purple, claiming they do not reflect the club's history.
Club director Jorg Wacker told the club's website: 'FC Bayern München AG has been in conversation with fan representatives about the use of club colours in kits.
'For fans, kits represent an important sign of identity with their club.
'FC Bayern München AG has thus announced that in future, only the club's traditional colours of red and white will be used in official match clothing - that is the home kit comprising shirt, shorts and socks.
'We will also stay in regular contact with fan representatives in relations to kits.'

Im fine with the Home Kit being Red/White exclusively. But Bayern have made strides in growing internationally and creative kits are a great way to do that. Sure, the Mint kit didn't work. But our dark-colored kits before this season have been very solid. Too reactionary IMO

To be very honest I like a bit of other colours together with red in the home kits (remember the red/gold one that was gorgeous) but the main problem is the choosing other colours (especially ugly ones like mint green) over the traditional red/white/blue

NICE! I like most of our kits but this decision is a major plus for the identity. Now let's just hope we won't go all crazy with our 3rd kits.

I don't know, I'm a product of the 90's when dark blue and Opel were the striking parts of the kit. I wouldn't mind the chance to have the dark blue every now and then.

This only applies to the home kit btw.

I wish that our kit colours were our only problem right now

Seems stupid to take out blue when it's a part of the emblem itself. Also glad to see that we have our priorities in order.
