David Beckham rolled back the years in a crossbar challenge competition with his Inter Miami players as he demonstrated that he had lost none of the dead-ball ability which made him so feared during his playing days.
The 42-year-old, who joint-owns the MLS side, nonchalantly stepped up during a club training session and arced his effort upwards, before it dipped at just the right time to hit the woodwork.
Beckham, who scored 66 free kicks during an illustrious 21-year career, was understandably chuffed with his effort, shrugging to one of Inter Miami's players before the club cameraman confirmed that he'd captured the strike, much to the Englishman's delight.
However, it wasn't all adulation in the comments after Beckham posted the video, which has since racked up more than four million likes on his Instagram page.
Son Romeo cast doubt on whether that was his dad's first take, asking 'how many times?', while Inter Miami's new boss Phil Neville mocked his old team-mate with 'is this real?'.
Inter Miami appointed Neville in January ahead of the new domestic season after the former Manchester United cut short his contract as head coach of England Women.
Inter Miami came 10th in 2020's Eastern Conference in what was a disrupted inaugural season in the MLS.
However, since last summer, the Herons have added some notable names to their squad, including ex-Juventus duo Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi and former Stoke stalwart Ryan Shawcross.
The 2021 MLS season kicks off on April 17, while Inter Miami play their first friendly of the new campaign against Miami FC next Saturday.
