Inter legend Giuseppe Bergomi was a guest at the ‘Overtime’ festival held at Teatro della Filarmonica in Macerata and shared some memories from his time at Inter re-calling his time under Giovanni Trapattoni in particular.
“I liked everything about my time at Inter from the pitch to the training sessions and then the coach. Giovanni Trapattoni was a very important coach for me because I met him in the most important years of my career. He is a great man and gave me lots of motivation."Bergomi who spent his entire 20 year career with the Nerazzurri is quoted as saying by Cronachemaceratesi.it.
Bergomi then went on to recall the 1988/89 Scudetto, the only one he won while at the club.
“We had five wonderful years even though we did not win anything. We were protagonists and this is fundamental. We then won the Scudetto when there was a lot of great competition for it.”
