Roma have completed the loan signing of Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid for a fee of two million euros.
Real Madrid extended the forward's contract, which was due to end in June 2021, at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu until June 2023 before signing a two-year deal with the Giallorossi.
Roma have the option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of 15m euros in the first season, and that amount will rise to 20m euros in the second season of the loan.
Should Roma buy Mayoral outright he has agreed a deal with the Serie A side until June 2025.
"I am pleased to finally join - it has been a hectic few days, but the main thing is everything has worked out for the best," Mayoral told Roma's official website.
"It's an honour for me to represent an historic club like Roma. I am grateful to the club for the faith they have shown; I will give everything for this club and I hope to make our fans proud."
The deal between the two clubs was facilitated by Davide Lippi, son of former Italy coach Marcello.
Mayoral came through La Fabrica after arriving at Real Madrid in 2007 and was part of Zinedine Zidane's Castilla side. He also made his debut with the first team on October 31, 2015 against Las Palmas.
Mayoral has spent the last two seasons on loan at Levante, and also had a spell at Wolfsburg in the 2016/17 season.
He was also part of the Spain U19 European Championship winning team that also contained Marco Asensio, Kepa and Dani Ceballos.
A Spanish Roma
Mayoral joins a team of Spaniards at the Stadio Olimpico alongside Pedro, Pau Lopez, Gonzalo Villar and Carles Perez.
"With this signing we are adding a talented player to the group, and one who has learned his trade at a renowned club like Real Madrid," said Guido Fienga, the club's CEO.
"Despite his young age he has already picked up some valuable experience. He had the choice to stay at Real Madrid or come here - he chose Roma, and we are delighted about that."
