Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's equaliser earned Arsenal a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth in Mikel Arteta's first game as the Gunners' head coach.
Match Report
Having opted to recall Mesut Ozil to his starting line-up in one of three changes, Arteta saw his side fall behind to Dan Gosling's goal 10 minutes before half-time.
However, Aubameyang tucked in a second-half leveller to ensure Arteta gained a point in his debut as a head coach.

Harry Wilson cuts inside and beyond both Saka and Aubameyang before seeing a low, curling shot well saved by Leno. Callum Wilson is alert to turn in the rebound but, after the flag went up and VAR was checked to confirm the decision, the goal is ruled out for offside.

Well, not bad for Arteta as his first match ina charge. Though we played so poorly, so wasteful. We strongly need some new signings to refresh and strengthen our XI squad.

A work in progress but time is not on Arsenal side. Positives: 1) Looked a more competent side. 2) Used ball better from keeper to midfield. Negatives: 1) Played too slow, particularly David Luiz! 2) Movement off the ball when in possession seriously lacking, particularly from front four of formation, though the best of them was Ozil who should have stayed on and Nelson should have gone off. 3) Lack of goal threat from midfield which consequently made life harder for the attacking four up top to capitalise on potential opportunities. Xhaka, though against Everton and in this match looked a different player, he still needs to become a goal threat from distance, he has it so flaunt it, Bang and keep banging! 4) Way too many over hit crosses into key final third areas. 5) Nelson, Auba and Lacazette all three of you are there for goals when team is in possession, not to increase number of passes! For me negatives over ran the positives, but the stand out positive is that with the same players, the side were clearly more organised and therefore harder to break down, which created time on the ball. Now they need to use it wisely to fulfill the purpose of being out there in the first place. Goals!

Arteta may not have started his duty as Arsenal manager with a win but I'm sure there some positives he can take from the today's game going forward. It's clear he doesn't have the personel in the key positions he'd like to. The posession, typically an Arsenal feature, was there and that's a good way to begin. Even the 'bad' players most Arsenal fans hate to see on the pitch such as Xhaka and Ozil did above average. Even Mustafi! The truth is Arteta must have seen there's a lot of work to do. If there's any quality defender or defensive midfielder available in January, then I'd expect Arteta to go for them.

We didn't win but there a 1000 reasons for optimism. I don't remember the last time we played with any superb verve and swagger moving the ball around nicely. At times we looked too hesitant to shoot in good positions, most notably when Lacazette laid the ball off to nelson when he had a chance to shoot. Big games upcoming against Chelsea and then Man United in the space of 76 hours, which will be a test of mentality as much as fitness. I'd take nothing away from the way we sprayed the ball around the pitch with purpose, if we put on our shooting boots and play like this then we can beat any team in the league as long as our defence and the midfielders doesn't make any silly mistakes. Encouraged with this performance as I've seen us play with real coherence and a clear game plan, something which was lacking during the latter stages of last season and the whole of this season so far. Arteta seems ready to steer this club to the next level when given he necessary time and backing in the transfer market. He will work on our flaws with the boys on the training ground over the next few days and there were signs today that we'll see turnaround in fortunes pretty soon. On to the next game against Chelsea💪❤
