Miranda was the stoppage-time hero for Brazil as his header gave Brazil a 1-0 win over Argentina in a low-key Superclasico de las Americas clash.
Match Events
7' CHANCE! Lo Celso's shot wide out
WIDE! Tagliafico does well to latch on to a long ball down the left flank. He cuts the ball back towards the edge of the box where Lo Celso strikes at goal. The midfielder makes decent contact with his strike, but he places it just wide of the target.
23' DANGER! Alisson almost blunders
Alisson almost gets caught in possession at the back by Correa, but the keeper just gets it away from the winger's sliding challenge.
27' What a clearance from Otamendi!
29' Dybala curls free-kick towards top corner!
CLOSE! Dybala fires his effort over the wall, curling his free-kick towards the top corner. However, his strike just drifts the wrong side of the post. Alisson was concerned there.
51' CHANCE! Icardi's shot wide out
Icardi finds space for a strike in the left inside channel and he powers an effort towards goal. Danilo and Marquinhos are there to divert the ball wide of the post, but the former stays down with an injury.
60' WIDE! Paredes' shot fades away from the target
WIDE! Parades makes a neat turn to evade a tackle in the final third and he lines up a strike from 25 yards, which fades away from the target without troubling Alisson.
68' CHANCE! Richarlison fires wide of the target
WIDE! Neymar raids down the left flank and beats the first leg of Saravia. He sends his cross to the back post where Richarlison can only fire wide of the target.
70' WHAT A SHOT! Arthur's volley saved
SAVE! Neymar lofts the ball back to Arthur on the edge of the box and he goes for a strike on the volley. He catches the ball sweetly, powering his effort towards the net, only to be denied by a sharp reaction save from Romero
93: GOAL! Brazil 1-0 Argentina (Miranda)
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! MIRANDA HEADS HOME IN STOPPAGE TIME!!!! BRAZIL 1-0!!!! Tite's men surely have won the game as Miranda guides a headed effort into the net at the near post. Neymar's delivery was on point for the first time this evening and Miranda made a run to meet the cross and nod it past Romero into the net.
Match reports
Brazil edged past Argentina in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday thanks to Miranda's 93rd-minute winner.
Sapping heat in Saudi Arabia led to a largely drab affair that was decided only when poor marking enabled the veteran Inter centre-back to head home in the 93rd minute.
Until then, Nicolas Otamendi's last-ditch denial of Miranda in the first half had been the closest Lionel Scaloni's men came to conceding for the first time since the World Cup.
Tite's side, unconvincing 2-0 winners over Saudi Arabia on Friday, were otherwise ineffective in attack as they struggled to create any notable chances despite the significant time they spent on the ball.
Brazil's dominance of possession in the first half did not keep Giovani Lo Celso and Paulo Dybala from threatening with efforts that both flashed past Alisson's left post.
Miranda went closer to breaking the deadlock between those chances when Casemiro's cross dropped kindly at the far post, but Otamendi was perfectly positioned to head the defender's close-range finish off the line.
Alisson dealt comfortably with a Lo Celso header soon after the interval and was spared another save courtesy of Danilo's block on Mauro Icardi, although the incident did leave the Brazil right-back limping to the bench.
Neymar finally found room to stretch his legs in the 69th minute only to be cut down by Renzo Saravia, with Sergio Romero required to beat away Arthur's volley from the resultant free-kick.
But there was only so much Romero could do about the eventual winner, the Manchester United goalkeeper left exposed by his defence as an unmarked Miranda rose to settle the contest.

This was Argentina not only without Messi but Di Maria,Aguero,Mashcherano,Banega and Marcus Rojo.Only if one of these for example Aguero was there the chance that Icardi missed without shooting woulf have been a goal for sure.Anyways I expected Argentina to lose but they were damn good to reach closer to win. With Scaloni as coach the team definately has heights to touch.

some ronaldo fans just hypocrite.when Argentina won against Iraq they said Argentina are better off without messi. now that they lost against Brazil they are actually saying if messi was there Argentina will still lose.which is which. argentina really played well as team not depending on one man. so the argentines could play as a team but world cup they were relying on messi to do everything when we all know that the game is a team sport. I suspect some fraud in the Argentina fa. ok if messi does not perform for Argentina how he scored 65goals with 40 assist in 128games clearly tell you the guy impact on the game.we can all see that Portugal are playing well even without ronaldo .they even haven't lost a game after ronaldo absence. as team they won France during 2016 euro without ronaldo.when he got injured. but ok let's compare them individually on international level not a team trophies. messi has world best player at 2014 world cup as well under 20 world and best player at the two copa America tournament played. but ronaldo no individual international record even with his goals has he won any goal King or best player at any tournament that he played internationally. but they never critise him if they lose.but otherwise in the case of messi.i am footbal fan even started as a ronaldo before messi came. I love messi more . but like ronaldo too.and watch their games every time. but both messi fans and ronaldo fans create confussion between themselves. at most about 6yrs these will retire soon so why won't you stop the debate and enjoy them whiles they still playing.

Wow even without their stars they were able hold them to the 93rd minute in Brazil home grounds....they did very well because even in the WC qualifications Argentina with Messi, macherano,Di Maria, aguero and the rest even with that they lost by three but I hope for the best for this Argentine team
