They say Messi has scored so many goals bcos he is at a comfort zone at Barca ,he knows Barca ,the players around him knw him. Hence the high # of goals. Surprising they don't say the same thing abt Pele who has the most goals in history having played mainly for Santos alone. That playing for the same team makes it easy to score goals is VERY NOT TRUE. It's actually supposed to be difficult bcos the defenders will learn abt u ,and mark you more efficiently. If it's true then CR7 is EXTREMELY lucky to have played all his football in Europe. Europe has a lot of teams fighting for qualification into different tournaments. Big teams have the luxury of playing weaker teams in Europe,we have seen the likes of Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands,and even Portugal bn put in the same groups as minority teams such as Norway, Iceland,Foroe island, Lithuania, Malta, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Macedonia just to mention a few. You will find one or two tricky opponents in a group but mostly the big teams are all meant to make it out of those groups. U can't say that in South America. It's all in ONE GROUP. Top 4 make it to WC , the 5th placed team has to go for playoffs. In a group containing the likes of Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Argentina,with tricky opponents like Paraguay,Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador etc it's very much possible to finish outside top 5. Not to 4get to mention the difficult there is in scoring goals in that group. That's just the truth. We have seen Messi struggle against the likes of Germany and France (although he has scored against both) ,CR7 has equally struggled against the likes of Chile and Uruguay (and he has NEVER scored against them).
