Brazilian media and fans have been quick to get their own back on Toni Kroos, who revelled in Germany's famous 7-1 victory, following the World Cup holders exit.
Kroos tweeted his own particular Happy New Year 2017 by replacing the last two digits for the flags of Brazil and Germany, reflecting the 2014 World Cup victory.
Now in Brazil fans have been quick to rub salt into the wound for Kroos after they were knocked out of the World Cup and the media outlet Lance tweeted Happy New Year 2018 with the flags of South Korea and Germany.
