Højlund clapped back at Kyle Walker on Instagram for City's defender's diving

In the 39th minute, Walker clashed with Højlund. After a brief head-to-head, Walker theatrically fell to the ground, and the referee booked both players.

In the first half, Manchester City took a 1-0 lead as Gvardiol headed home from a De Bruyne assist. Meanwhile, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes missed a one-on-one chance, with his chip narrowly off target.  

In the second half, United gradually found their rhythm. In the 85th minute, Amad won a penalty after being fouled by Nunes in the box, and Fernandes converted to level the score. In the 90th minute, Amad stepped up again, sealing the victory for United with a brilliant strike.

Højlund's first two lines were adapted from a love poem, originally: 

Roses are red
