Jose Mourinho wasn't happy and I can understand why Arsenal's penalty will split opinion.

Alexandre Lacazette got his shot away β a poorly executed attempt it was, too β and then came the contact from Davinson Sanchez.
The defender was trying to block the ball but the way he flew through Lacazette forced referee Michael Oliver into making his decision.

Mourinho complained afterwards that VAR Paul Tierney 'confirmed the wrong decision'. Once this was given in real time, there was no way Tierney was going to overturn it.
The contact was clearly there, and this was not a clear and obvious error from Oliver. Later in the game, there was a robust challenge from Harry Kane on Gabriel but the Spurs striker did not lead with his elbow or forearm, so that's why he wasn't red-carded.
I would have shown him a yellow for it, given it was a reckless action.

You win some and you lose some. Arsenal were very lucky to be awarded a penalty. Then again penalties can be missed. Laca made no mistake , it was a well executed spot kick.

Arsenal was very lucky to have been awarded the penalty, the odds were given to Arsenal and Tottenham had to suffer setback in the game against Arsenal for a disallowed goal and a free kick that hit the π₯ post and a red card.
You forgot Arsenal hit the post twice too?

Just to remind u we (Tottenham) got a goal disallowed and free kick that hit the post in the last 10 mins of the game
a goal disallowed for good reason, harry was offside. Arsenal too hit the bar and the upright. as for Arsenal second goal i can understand the stance of Tottenham fans

Tot was lucky to emerge with 2_1 with those many chances the gunners squandered 4 was indeed visible

Is this what English referees can give, poor judgements every week and putting pressure on the Clubs to sack their managers !!!! Oliver, you've twisted the result ! Resign !
shame on man-u fans who are are hiding the truth, no one has ever benefited from fake VAR decisions than man-united.. not forgetting penalties given after full time whistle. it's a shame they are commenting nonsense here..

π£ "My record with him on penalties is astonishing with Chelsea, United & Tottenham. I'm very unlucky with such a good referee." Safe to say Jose Mourinho isn't the biggest fan of referee Michael Oliver.

People can say what ever they like, but to me English ref still have lots of things to put in order. Am an Arsenal fan, am glad the penalty was awarded even though Lack has played the ball wide but the speed at which the tackle comes will definitely comes with a price. Against Burnley arsenal were denied clear penalty.

There were more obvious penalties and red cards that were not given. It has been proven time and time again Michael Oliver is ANTI SPURS!

The penalty was given on the basis of dangerous play, just like everton liverpool the vvd situation.players should be responsible that's a career ending tackle.split decision it was but for the safety of the game good decision
