Camavinga targeted by racist messages following incident caused Nkunku's injury

After being involved in an accidental clash in France training which inadvertently caused the injury of Christopher Nkunku, L’Équipe report that Eduardo Camavinga has been targeted by racist messages on social media. Camavinga was targeted after a training video showed he was involved, albeit accidentally, in the incident which led to Nkunku’s withdrawal.

Nkunku had to be ruled out of the France team last night due to a knee injury, which sees him travel home today instead of with his Les Bleus teammates who are travelling to Qatar today. There has been some aggressive reaction towards the news of Nkunku’s injury – with the Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga having been targeted by several racist messages.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani has been called up as a replacement for Nkunku and joins the squad today. France play Australia on 22nd November in their opening game in group D.
