Arsenal's legendary 'Invincibles' side are the only team to go an entire Premier League season without losing a single match. However, there's a good chance that Liverpool will equal that achievement over the coming months.
Jurgen Klopp's side remain unbeaten after 25 Premier League fixtures. They’ve won 24 games and drawn once, which means they’ve registered an incredible 73 points from a possible 75.
As Reds are on the way to make record, we've listed the longest unbeaten starts below, along with the team’s final league position and total number of points.
1994-95: Nottingham Forest and Newcastle (11 games)
Nottingham Forest won eight and drew three of their opening 11 games, while Newcastle won nine and drew two. However, it was Blackburn Rovers who went on to win the title that season.
Forest finished third on 77 points, while Newcastle sealed 72 points and finished sixth.
1995-96: Nottingham Forest (12 games)
Forest enjoyed another brilliant start the following season, winning six and drawing the other six of their opening 12 games before losing 7-0(!) to Blackburn on November 18.
Their form fell off a cliff over the coming weeks and they eventually came ninth after sealing a disappointing 58 points.
1997-98: Arsenal (12 games)

1998-99: Aston Villa (12 games)
Aston Villa’s superb unbeaten start was broken by Liverpool on November 21.
The Villains eventually finished sixth in the table, with 55 points - 24 fewer than champions United.
2002-03: Liverpool (12 games)
Liverpool fans must have thought this was their season after watching their team win nine and draw their of their first 12 fixtures.
However, the Reds then went an incredible ELEVEN games without registering a single win. They ended up finishing fifth in the table with 64 points.
2003-04: Arsenal (38 games)
Arsenal’s 'Invincibles' won 26 and drew 12 of their 38 fixtures, racking up 90 points in the process, in the 2003-04 season.
The greatest Premier League team ever? The north Londoners may be currently experiencing a title drought but their crowning achievement is unmatched
Whether it was the greatest Premier League season of all-time is up for debate, but Arsenal's 2003-04 team will always stand apart from the rest as the 'Invincibles'.
Are Liverpool about to equal the Gunners' feat?
2005-06: Chelsea (11 games)
Chelsea sealed back-to-back league titles at the end of the 2005-06 campaign, winning the league with 91 points.

2012-13: Manchester City (15 games)
Ferguson’s last season in management, Man Utd won the title by 11 points - but it was City who enjoyed the best start to that particular campaign.
City’s unbeaten start was ended by the Red Devils, who won a 3-2 classic at the Etihad thanks to Robin van Persie’s late free-kick.
2014-15: Chelsea (14 games)

2018-19: Liverpool (20 games)
Liverpool’s unbeaten run was ended by Man City, who beat Klopp’s side 2-1 on January 3.
This was a huge moment in the title race. City ended the season with 98 points, which was one more than Liverpool’s tally.
2019-20: Liverpool (25 games)
Liverpool have dropped just two points all season (against Man Utd at Old Trafford) and find themselves 22 points clear at the top of the table.
They're on course to smash all sorts of records over the next few months and have every chance of cementing their status as the best team we've seen during the Premier League era.
Let the time tell us in the coming months!

Invincible was overrated. They finished with 1 of the lowest point tally and there were a lot of divers in that side. Also the fact they drew at least half their games that season. Most overhyped football achievement in existence those who seen it know its true nature.... Chelsea had a better record with least goals ever conceded in a single season in world football (Carvalho - Terry partnership), that's a record no one will ever break, invincible is hard but the nature of how it was achieved is ridiculous, if Liverpool goes unbeaten theyd have had a way better run that Arsenal by miles with record points.... in fact I hope they do cps some Arsenal fans (not all)

Liverpool this season is incredible I wasn’t expecting them to be so good lyk ds considering salah not as deadly in front of goals unlike before but they are spectacular at the back and their midfields, yet I don’t think they will finish the season with unbeaten

Liverpool lost just one match the whole of last season ,a very narrow loss by some few millimetres which affected their chances of winning the pl,they can go all year without defeat if they continue with their consistency and form .I'm very optimistic about it and I believe it shall be so,their dominance this year is way beyond any other team's period of dominance. All the best Reds,we are solidly behind you

It had been a long three decades of waiting. This season seems Liverpool is having what it takes to win the League and create history for Liverpool.

When there is Klopp then Liverpool can do anything. They have good attacking players like firmino,salah,mane..midfielders are also doing well.. in case of defense i want say thay van dijk is enough...there is the best goalkeeper Alison! They can do anything if they want.

Its not about being unbeaten its about the pts you accumulate. Arsenals so called invincibles never reached more than 90 pts yet the Reds and Citizens and Chelsea have accumulated more pts ina season.

I am not saying it's impossible to remain unbeaten in PL but when the knockout stages come in CL, Klopp will use rotation in the squad then we will watch what happens next,....... 🤨 otherwise good luck....... ✌️

Tbh I agree with you that Chelsea had a better season in 2004/05 than us the season prior. 26 wins and 12 draws isn't the most impressive invincible record by any means and we rode our luck at times that season. Well, EVERY team who goes unbeaten throughout a 38 game season requires luck to some extent... I'll recall *that* infamous RVN penalty miss. What if Van Nistelrooy's foot connected with the ball a centimetre or two away, in any direction? Our unbeaten could easily have been over at that moment. Chelsea conceded only 15 goals in 38 games which is an absolutely sensational defensive record. They lost only once but gained 95 points. an unbeaten record isn't everything, so Chelsea still had a better season. It's my unbiased comparison of these 2 Arsenal & Chelsea teams you mentioned. Keep in mind that none of what I said in this reply contradicts the fact that our golden PL trophy is a spectacular achievement✌I think I've said it all....
