Cardiff City have been relegated from the Premier League after suffering defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Wilfried Zaha opened the scoring with a low finish, before Martin Kelly's own goal restored hope for the Bluebirds.
However, Michy Batshuayi struck minutes later and Andros Townsend's second-half goal condemned the hosts to the drop despite Bobby Decordova-Reid's late consolation.
Cardiff are four points behind Brighton with one game to play, and will face Manchester United in their final match of the season.
The Bluebirds returned to the Premier League after five years away following a second place finish to the Championship season in 2017-18.
But the club was never able to ascend the table in the top-flight, as they spent the season battling among the relegation places.
In the January window, Cardiff also had to deal with the tragic death of former Nantes forward Emiliano Sala, who had agreed a move to the Welsh club.
However the 28-year-old Argentine was tragically killed in a plane crash over the English channel as he was flying from Nantes to Cardiff after saying goodbye to his team-mates at the Ligue 1 club.
Cardiff also notably endured difficult refereeing luck toward the end of the campaign after they were hard done in a match against Chelsea.
Cesar Azpilicueta’s equaliser was shown to be offside on replay, but the goal stood, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s winner consigned Cardiff to a costly 3-2 defeat.
Warnock blasted the Premier League’s referees after the match, earning him punishment from the Football Association.
Cardiff will finish out their campaign at Old Trafford against Manchester United and former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who led the Bluebirds the last time they were relegated from the top flight in 2013-14.

CARDIFF CITY FC put in so much courage, bravery and fights after sala's incident, but it just wasn't enough to save them. I wish you all the best in the championship and quick promotion back to EPL. all the best

Cardiff have been relegated but they deserve all the praise i never expected Cardiff to reach this stage without getting relegated because their team is so poor, all credit to Neil warnock for trying to do the impossible, they need more squad depth to be able to survive in the premier league.

Instead of condemning Cardiff, i would rather empathize with them. They made several efforts to sail to safety in EPL but somehow they couldn't. When you look the tragic death of Sala who's expected to help them navigate through and the effect of bad officiating in some of their games, especially the game against Chelsea, you'd agree that a lot of factors conspired to work against them. Anyway, they tried their best although things didn't work out. You guys will go back to Championship hoping that the lessons learnt in the last couple of months in EPL would go a long way in future endeavours. Thanks for adding to EPL entertainment.
