Dani Ceballos left the Spotify Camp Nou on the winning side after Real Madrid's 4-1 comeback in the Copa Del Rey, but not without firing one last parting shot at arch-rivals Barcelona.
Los Blancos came into the second leg of the semi-final 1-0 down after the first clash at the Santiago Bernabeu, but an inspired performance saw Carlo Ancelotti's side beat Barca 4-0 in their own back yard.
In a typically fierce meeting, Vinicius Jr and Karim Benzema scored the all-important goal to flip the tie and deny the Catalan giants a domestic treble in 2022-23.
With LaLiga all but tied up already, Barca needed to hold Real to reach May's Copa Del Rey final after beating their nemesis in the Spanish Super Cup in January.
And Ceballos - who only featured for five minutes in the game - was quick to remind the Blaugrana of a video they released in the wake of that triumph.
As the former Arsenal loanee left the stadium on Wednesday night, he was heard shouting 'La nueva era! La nueva era!' in Spanish, which translates to 'The new era! The new era!'.
This comes after Barca posted a celebration video after lifting the trophy in Saudi Arabia in January, with their players showing off their gold medals.
And Ronald Araujo can be heard saying: 'Empezo la nueva era!', which translates to 'The new era is beginning'.
And Real Madrid fans on Twitter were evidently left in even greater adoration of the player, who has undergone a resurgence in importance at the Bernabeu this season.
One wrote: 'YOU ARE MY FATHER DANI, STAY!' followed by a laughing emoji.
Another added: 'I can't take it anymore I swear.'
However one fan was clearly left embittered by Ceballos' comments, writing: 'Dani they have humiliated you in three games this season and you sit on the bench.'
The game itself saw several flash points, with the bitter rivals renewing their acquaintance in a fifth Clasico of the season.
Vinicius - who was at the heart of so much of what Real did well on Wednesday - was twice found in altercations with Barca players.
The Brazilian was shoved to the floor by Araujo with five minutes to play in the game, after earlier embarrassing him with an impressive piece of skill just after the half-time break.
And just seconds later the 22-year-old found himself in an exchange with Spanish forward Ferran Torres, and could be seen apparently saying: 'Shut up, you're terrible!' to his opponent.
