There has been some controversy amongst Chelsea's fans after a few decided to chant Roman Abramovich's name during a tribute to Ukraine prior to their match against Burnley at Turf Moor last Sunday.
Shortly after the Premier League match, Thomas Tuchel blasted those who decided to dedicate chants towards the Chelsea owner during the Ukraine solidarity gesture, as Abramovich had previously announced his decision to sell the club following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
"We take the knee together; if an important person from our club or another club unfortunately dies, we have a minute of respect," said Tuchel.
"It is not the moment to give other messages. It's the moment to show respect. We want to do this. As a club we need our fans to commit to this minute of applause.
"We do it for Ukraine and there is no second opinion about this situation. They have our thoughts and our support and we should stand together."
Hours later, the Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST) released a statement to reiterate their decision to support Ukraine, stressing that this was not the right moment to express their affection towards Abramovich.
"The CST immediately took a clear stance in support of the Ukrainian population," read the statement.
"Chanting Abramovich's name at that time was clearly inappropriate."
