Chelsea are reportedly set to break club policy by offering Willian a new two-year deal in order to wade off interest from Manchester United.
The Brazilian was strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford over the summer with Barcelona also courting the flier.
Chelsea ordinarily only offer players over the age of 30 one-year extensions due to their focus on high-energy football.
But Willian, who crossed that age threshold just last week, is in line to land a fresh two-year contract, according to The Sun.
Willian has less than two years left to run on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, worth around £120,000-a-week.
The fresh terms would bring a pay rise for Willian who has now been a Chelsea player for five years.
He fell out of favour under Antonio Conte last term and recently revealed he would have been forced to leave the club should the Italian had remained as manager.
But Maurizio Sarri threw him in from the start on his first Premier League game in charge last Saturday at Huddersfield, a game the Blues won 3-0.

I have always been the first to criticize this Chelsea policy about players age.It doesn’t make sense to me at all why we are insistent on getting rid of players above 30 I cannot see the rationale behind making such a policy.First of all it make players coming into the club insecure Cos they know the moment they hit 30 they are out(that’s why we missed out on dzeko)Secondly,Current Players will be unwilling to commit to long term futures.Lastly, why make such a policy if you know you will break it in the long run?we have bought Giroud and kept Fabregas and David Luiz as well as Cahil and about to renew Willian so what’s the use of having the policy in the first place? They should just get rid of it

Willian is a very good player who will help Chelsea a lot so given him a pay rise and extending his contact is the best thing to do . Up the blues
