Chelsea have inquired about the availability of Brighton defender Lewis Dunk with the Blues looking for defensive reinforcements heading into the second half of the campaign.
Frank Lampard's side are in the market for a defender having seen their transfer ban lifted early, allowing them to trade this month. The defence is said to be a priority, with Chelsea leaking goals at the back at stages this season.
And The Times are reporting that Lampard has set his sights on Brighton defender Dunk to be the man that he can build a strong defence around.
The Englishman has been a key figure in Brighton's rise, and survival, in the Premier League. The Seagulls value their star man at £50million, and would be willing to step aside and allow Dunk to move to a club of Chelsea's stature.
Dunk has made 20 appearances for Graham Potter's side in 2019-20, and his physical prowess has made him an attacking threat for the south coast side, scoring twice and setting up three assists this campaign.
The 28-year-old also earned his one and only international cap in England's 3-0 win over the United States in November 2018.
