Chelsea and Liverpool once again played out a draw as goals from Luis Diaz and Axel Disasi saw the score finish 1-1 at Stamford Bridge as the teams got their Premier League campaign underway
Robert Sanchez - The former Brighton goalkeeper came into the team more quickly than many anticipated as Kepa Arrizabalaga's move away from Chelsea comes closer to fruition. The game saw him with very little to do in recycling possession and also in terms of saves. Solid enough outside of a misplaced pass late in the second half. 6.
Axel Disasi - Perhaps could have done better for Liverpool's opening goal but Mo Salah's pass should take most of the credit for that. Otherwise handled himself well and looked a threat in the opposition box. Scrambled in Ben Chilwell's header to put Chelsea back on level terms. Excellent composure when defending against Darwin Nunez late in the game. 7.
Thiago Silva - Continues to impress and put in a crucial block in the 27th minute to ensure Liverpool did not extend their lead. His fellow centre-backs will have their work cut out to displace him. 7.
Levi Colwill - The young defender was presented a difficult task in frequently facing Salah in one v one situations and was certainly tested in that role. Performed well overall and showed some good moments on the ball however 6.
Reece James - Returning to a wingback role against the Reds, the threat James possesses high up the pitch also did as he provided consistently impressive deliveries. Encouraging performance until he was replaced in the second half. 7.
Enzo Fernandez - The World Cup winner was provided with the freedom of a more advanced role and grew into the game as Chelsea did. Hinted at what he could do moving forward if Chelsea can figure out the base of their midfield. 7.
Carney Chukwuemeka - An erratic start to the game saw him earn a yellow card for a high boot and it took a while for him to settle into proceedings on the opening day of the Premier League. Improved as the game went on and was able to connect midfield and attack. 6.
Conor Gallagher - The former Crystal Palace loanee was tasked as sitting as Chelsea's defensive midfield and he did produce some good tackles but had a difficult task pressing the opposition when Liverpool flowed forward. Made a phenomenal tackle on Salah when he looked to break clean through in the second period and was one of the better players of that half. 6.
Ben Chilwell - The wingback had a lot of ground to cover in Chelsea's system as he was tasked with driving high up the pitch and helping to pack out the Blues' midfield. Continues to be one of Pochettino's main attacking threats, though his first touch let him down on occasion.
His header back into the box found Disasi who was able to square the game up, and Chilwell thought he'd handed Chelsea the lead when he rounded Alisson and finished well before VAR ruled out his goal for offside. 6.
Raheem Sterling - A better outing from the winger who showed some good close-control in the opposition area but was perhaps more impressive in his work outside of the final third. More work to do but encouraging. 6.
Nicolas Jackson - The Senegal international again showed his all-round presence on the pitch and he continued to work hard for the team and showed desperation to get in behind Liverpool's backline. Would be disappointed with sending the ball over the bar with a first half chance but still plenty to be impressed by. Looked destined to earn Chelsea a win late on with a phenomenal run but couldn't quite finish it off. 6.
Substitutes:
Malo Gusto - His cameo showed why Chelsea signed him as he ensured a consistent presence in replacing James in the second period. 6.
Mykhailo Mudryk - Had little opportunity to make his presence felt. 5.
Ian Maatsen - Once again showed his versatility when replacing Chukwuemeka. Little time to make too much of an impression. 5.
Lesley Ugochukwu - Entered the fray just before stoppage time and had little time to make an impact. 5.

Last season, any team score on Chelsea 1st was 95% a win for them...this season from the glimpses of their 1st game...those youngsters are showing alot of promise...Next thing Chelsea need to do is send Sterling to the Saudi league and work with the other young guys..
