Doubt has been cast over what fixtures will still be played in the comings weeks following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday. This weekend's round of Premier League and English Football League fixtures have been postponed and are set to be rescheduled.
Graham Potter has to wait longer than expected before making his debut as Chelsea boss. And, it could now be on the biggest of stages - the Champions League, with UEFA expected to wave play on.
Chelsea vs Fulham (A), September 10 - cancelled
The Premier League issued a statement a little over 24 hours before Fulham are set to welcome Chelsea to Craven Cottage for the opening tie of game-week seven announcing that this weekend's fixture will be postponed and rescheduled.
Chelsea vs RB Salzburg (H), September 14 - expected to be played
These fixtures - as well as Chelsea's - had been thrown into doubt after the Premier League took the decision to postpone and reschedule all fixtures this weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday. This means that, as aforementioned, the Blues' bout with Fulham will be played another time.
However, as the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League games fall under UEFA jurisdiction, different measures have been put in place. As things stand, this tie fixture is expected to go ahead.
Chelsea vs Liverpool (H), September 18 - expected to be postponed due to funeral
This gameweek of fixtures are expected to be cancelled too. The Queen's funeral is expected to take place on September 18 or September 19.
If this is the case, then it could mean further fixture disruption to the schedule. With hundreds of thousands of people expected to visit London over the coming days, it would represent a sizeable task for police and security - Brentford versus Arsenal is also scheduled for the same weekend.
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (A), October 1 - expected to be played
This fixture is expected to be played. Just hours before, the north London derby is set to go ahead at the Emirates Stadium.
