David Silva's appearance for Manchester City in the Premier League against Wolves on Monday night means he's now the club's most capped player in the competition.

Since joining from Valencia in 2010, David Silva has played 267 games in the league for Manchester City, more than any other player.

He has overtaken goalkeeper Joe Hart, who previously held the record.

Silva earned the accolade by playing a part in City's comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves at home, which means they keep pace with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

In a post marking the achievement on the Manchester City official website, it says: 'Silva, perhaps more than any other player, has helped revolutionise Manchester City’s style of play and everyone at the Club would like to congratulate him on reaching a significant milestone.'

During his 267 games, David Silva has scored 54 goals, and assisted 77 goals.

He also holds the club record in the Premier League for number of successful passes with 14,253, and chances created with 710.

The Spaniard has won the Premier League three times with Manchester City, in 2011-12, 2013-14, and 2017-18. He's also won the FA Cup once, the League Cup three times, and the Community Shield twice.

Silva is also a World Cup winner and double European Championship winner with Spain.
