New Barcelona signing Frenkie de Jong is looking forward to starting life at the Camp Nou and described the Catalans as his dream club.
The youngster will leave Ajax at the end of the season to join the reigning LaLiga Santander champions, where he cannot wait to get going.
"The president told me everything about the club and the advantages of playing there," De Jong said to Barcelona's official media channels.
"It helped me a lot because I've always been a Barcelona player. I've wanted to play there since I was a kid.
"I like the players, I like the style; they are the team of my dreams."
De Jong won't arrive at the Camp Nou to simply make up the numbers either as he wants to have a central role.
"My dream is to be an important player for the club," he added.
"I want to win a lot of titles there."
The opportunity to play with Lionel Messi would excite most, and the Dutchman is no exception.
"I'm looking forward to it," he admitted, "I think he's the best player of all time.
"He's hard to describe. He's the most complete player and can do whatever he wants.
"With or without the ball, he creates a lot of chances. He has an incredible left foot and his intelligence is on another level."
