Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson will undergo a medical at Crystal Palace after being granted permission to travel to London, according to reports.

The Englishman is currently United's number two but has been tipped for a summer move away from Old Trafford following the arrival of Andre Onana.

The 26-year-old is on the bench for United's clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon but will make his way to London afterwards, as reported by the Telegraph.

Palace have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper as Vicente Guaita looks to push through an exit away from Selhurst Park, with Henderson tipped to replace him.

Roy Hodgson already has an England shot-stopper between the sticks in Sam Johnstone but would bring in Henderson to add competition to his goalkeeping ranks.

Discussions have been ongoing over a permanent transfer for some time, and although a deal hasn't yet been struck, Henderson will be allowed to have a medical ahead of a proposed move.

Palace are confident they will get a deal over the line before the transfer window closes on Friday, September 1.

There was initial interest from Forest after Henderson spent a large part of last season at the City Ground before suffering an injury that ruled him out for the end of the campaign.

Palace then signalled their interest and began to negotiate the shot-stopper's exit from Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, United are closing in on a deal for Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, with the player appearing to signal a goodbye to supporters on Thursday.

United are closing in on a £4.25million deal for Bayindir, pending the results of medical tests.

Erik ten Hag's side are willing to pay the shot-stopper's release clause if they are provided with guarantees over his fitness.
