Depay: Barcelona have expressed interest, but so have other clubs

Memphis Depay only has one more match left with Lyon before he begins his summer of free agency, when he'll look for a new home. Barcelona have been linked, but they're not the only club interested.

This is according to the player himself, who has opened up about his future possibilities in an interview in the French media.

"I want to go to one of the two or three biggest clubs in one of the top five leagues," he told L'Equipe.

"I'm not sure yet exactly where this will be. It's not clear yet, but that's my objective.

"If I had the same stats at PSG as I have had at Lyon then all of Europe would be aware of this. It would be the same if I had this in Manchester. So, I must show the three or four biggest clubs in Europe that I can do the same.

"I want to show my quality at the best club possible in the best league possible. I'm ready to take the next step.

"[Barcelona] have expressed interest, but so have other clubs. Nothing has been done yet."

The Dutchman went on to explain that his primary focus is on the European Championship, as he looks to lead the Netherlands to glory.

"I'm going to focus on the European Championship, as I'm in no rush about this decision that needs to be carefully thought about," he said.
