Arsenal fans have taken to social media to show their dismay over their transfer deadline day business, which saw them complete a window where they failed to sign one major player.

Gunners supporters had hoped Mikel Arteta's outfit would be boosted with big arrivals in January as they look to push on to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in six years.

Having scored just one goal in a winless January that saw them embarrassingly  knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest and the League Cup by Liverpool, it seemed a good sign that the Gunners needed a transfer boost.

Yet it proved a frustrating month for the north London side who were beaten to the signing of striker Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina by Juventus.

Even relegation strugglers Newcastle United pipped them to £33million midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon.

But Gunners supporters have been left up in arms by the notion their side may even have got worse during the window, having also allowed senior players to leave.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for instance was allowed to join Barcelona on a free transfer, and it left one fan shocked having expected the club to sign Ousmane Dembele from the Nou Camp to join up with the former Gunners captain.

TV personality and big Gunners fan Piers Morgan also showed his fury at the business, tweeting 'This is a terrible transfer window for Arsenal.

'One goal in the whole of January and we sell our best striker for NOTHING with no replacement. Madness.'

Another famous fan in radio star Roman Kemp also showed his disappointment, reflecting on it being another frustrating deadline day for Gunners supporters.

Other fans were more keen to focus on staff working behind the scenes by using humour to show their dissatisfaction with the club's lack of action.

Technical director Edu's strategy was made fun of with a five-point plan that made reference to a South Park joke on how to have little idea over how to do business.

While even Arteta was made out to be using a bankruptcy excuse to explain Arsenal's lack of transfer action at his next press conference.
