Eduardo Camavinga (21) was one of two players forced off through injury during France’s 3-2 victory over Chile on Tuesday. The Real Madrid midfielder has suffered a sprained ankle, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
Despite the victory in what was Les Bleus’ final match before Euro 2024, it was a costly night for Didier Deschamps’ side. Jonathan Clauss (31) was forced off in the 11th minute with what has been confirmed as a hamstring tear. The Olympique de Marseille defender is expected to miss several weeks of action.
Deschamps was forced into another unplanned change before the break. Camavinga went down late in the first half and was forced off in the 44th minute. He is suffering from a sprained ankle, the severity of which is yet to be ascertained, however, it has been described by L’Équipe as a “small sprain”. Further tests will be done on Wednesday in order to define his period of absence.
