Emerson's compensation 'would reach €16m' if Barca re-sign him from Betis

Emerson has again been the protagonist this day for the goal scored against Alaves. In Seville, the media also talk about the possibility that Barcelona could refish him early, either in the winter market or in the summer. 

In January 2019, just a year ago, Emerson joins Real Betis. The deal has cost 12 million euros and that figure been shared between Betis and Barcelona. The 20-year-old initially joined the Blaugrana in January from Atletico Mineiro in a €12.7m deal in a convoluted operation in which both Barcelona and Real Betis paid for half that sum each.

Both clubs now co-own the right-back but he has exclusively played for Betis since his arrival.

Estadio Deportivo says that the figure would be around 12 million euros if Barcelona resign him in advance, 3 million euros to which it would have to be added another amount close to 9 million: the six that Betis advanced this summer when it took half of its rights and compensation of another three kilos in terms of training.

Solvent sources have revealed to MD that this figure would be even higher and could be around €16 million. At Camp Nou, however, this winter market is not considered for the moment because they have Semedo, although Valverde puts Sergi Roberto ahead again.
