Eintracht Frankfurt have signed full-back Erik Durm on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town.
He has now joined Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-year deal running through to June 2023.
"My year in England was a great experience," Durm said in a press conference on Wednesday. "The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world with a lot of great teams and top players.
"I can take a lot of positives from my time there, even though we didn't manage to stay in the top flight."
Durm originally joined Huddersfield from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee in 2018 and went on to make 28 appearances for the Terriers in all competitions

zurück wilkommen Durm back to Bundes is a no brainer. he's still got plenty to offer at Europa.

Was absolutely fine for us last season in terms of fitness, but poor in all other departments. Injuries ruined his ability to commit to tackles, and slowed him down a lot as well. But aside from that he was very average for us in a side where Chris Löwe (signed from and then sold to Bundesliga 2 sides)was by far our best full back. Falling upwards if Frankfurt sign him, probably on account of his reputation as an international and 'world cup winner'.

Bit weird that Durm signed on a one year deal for Huddersfield initially.

World Cup winner Erik Durm nonetheless. Hope the guy gets some of his old form back, really seemed like a good option for our future some years back but, as is always the case here, got derailed by injuries.

I think Durm should fit perfectly to Frankfurt. He can still be a good wingback on both flanks and is very well suited to some high pressing.

Was hoping he'd come back to Dortmund but hopefully he can get back on track at Frankfurt.

Very talented player but he was slowed down by long injury spells. I hope he shines with Eintracht to play for the NT again.

Free transfer, well under 30 years old, not international class, but a solid player. Very happy with that signing. Can’t really go wrong here. I guess that confirms that both Taleb Tawatha and Jetro Willems have no future in Frankfurt. It’ll be interesting to see where they end up.

Good move for him and hope he does well as always seemed like a nice bloke, but honestly he was pretty mediocre with us. Not bad but never really shone like we'd hoped, was 2nd choice to Lowe by the end of it. Admitedly I didn't know too much about him before he came to Town, but you can tell his injuries has taken its toll on his pace.

He hardly had a decent year in the Premier League, he barely got a kick for the worst team in the league. He's done well get such a massive step up

Looks like he made exactly the right move with the short contract in Huddersfield last year. After being out injured a long time he had only a few options last summer but after a decent year in the PL he now was able to sign a long contract (until 2023) at a good Bundesliga club. Happy things have worked out for him now and hope he does well in Frankfurt.
