Everton and Arsenal will both be desperate for a result when they go head-to-head at Goodison Park on Monday.
Rafa Benitez is under intense pressure after securing just one point from the last available 21 - a run that culminated in a painful 4-1 home defeat against Liverpool in last week’s derby.
However, Everton can be backed at 12/5 (3.40) to earn a much-needed morale boost by seeing off a team they did the double over in last season’s Premier League.
The Gunners were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United in a frantic match at Old Trafford last time out but Arsenal are available at 11/10 (2.10) to bounce straight back by coming out on top here.
Just one of the hosts’ last 10 home league games has resulted in a draw, but there are odds of 5/2 (3.50) available on this one finishing up all square.
The misfiring Salomon Rondon and Richarlison are the home team’s joint 15/2 (8.50) favourites to break the deadlock in the absence of injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Demarai Gray offering potentially better value at 11/1 (12.0) as he leads the club’s scoring charts.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the 4/1 (5.0) front runner to open the scoring, although Emile Smith Rowe looks a more attractive option at 11/1 (12.0) after goals in six of his last 11 appearances for club and country.
Although Mikel Arteta’s men have also been on the wrong end of a heavy defeat at Liverpool’s hands recently, they look in far better shape coming into this game than their opponents on current form.
Indeed, the Merseyside derby result was merely the latest in a long line of troubling performances from a Toffees team that are sorely missing the injured Calvert-Lewin in attack and Yerry Mina in defence.
Having scored just four goals and conceded 16 in their last seven winless matches, it is hard to see them overcoming an away team that have kept four clean sheet in the last six games while failing to score just once.
In fact, those 11/10 (2.10) odds actually look pretty generous on Arsenal recording a sixth victory in eight when they face and Everton team in freefall.
All odds correct at time of writing. Please gamble responsibly.
