Former Manchester United defender Paul McGrath has revealed his son has been located safe and sound after reaching out to social media for help on Thursday night.
The 59-year-old put out a heartfelt plea on Twitter in a bid to raise awareness as he desperately searched for son, Paul Jr, who went missing in the days prior.
However, less than 24 hours after his original tweet, McGrath revealed that his son had been found before thanking everyone for their efforts.
'Thanks to the power of social media & Metropolitan Police my son Paul has been located,' McGrath tweeted on Friday.
'The love and support shown to myself and my family has been phenomenal. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you....❤️ #greatful'
McGrath's original tweet quickly gained traction online and was retweeted more than 35,000 times.
McGrath spent seven years with United where he went on to make 203 appearances, scoring 16 goals.
