Fernandinho was livid as Manchester City controversially crashed out of the Champions League, slamming: "F*** VAR."
The Brazilian gave the two-word response in the mixed zone after the game as the Blues' quadruple hopes were left in tatters by Tottenham .
City thought they had scored the goal that would have sent them into the last four to take on Ajax when Raheem Sterling struck what would have been his hat-trick in stoppage time.
But VAR was consulted and found Sergio Aguero was offside in the build-up to the goal - sending Spurs through into the semi-finals.
Aguero had scored earlier in the second half which would have been enough for Pep Guardiola's side, before Fernando Llorente bundled in from a corner.
That goal was also referred to VAR for a potential handball, but after the referee viewed the replay at the side of the pitch, he decided it would stand.
The ball appeared to brush Llorente's arm before going into the goal off his hip, and the referee was happy with what he watched.
In a breathless first quarter, City took a 3-2 lead.
Sterling opened the scoring before a quickfire Son Heung-min double put Spurs 2-1 up on the night.
Bernardo Silva levelled it up before Sterling also grabbed his brace.

First the var was correct about the llorente goal... The ball don't touch the hand.... And last goal was absolutely offside because got interception from bernado silva which is arrive in his foot before land into aguero that actually offside.... And person who debate me go watch the replay more and more...... It is very clear..

And they said on live TV that even if it touches your hands by accident and goes into the goal and it's found on the VAR it would be no goal or a penalty but today hmmm what happened already happened so good luck to Totenham.

VAR made the correct decision, Agüero was offside. If the call was for Man City I’m sure he would love VAR

Fernandinho should have done that after he elbowed Kane in the first leg. None was there to question the erratic refereeing in the first leg, but almost every Man City fan is now there to blame the officials when they got two important decisions absolutely right. You can check that by looking at the replays.

Interesting. He thinks Man City would br pampered like in the EPL and FA Cup. How unfortunate they won against Palce for absence of VAR, how painful they eliminated Swansea in the FA Cup for non-use of VAR. He should prepare more insults for next season bcos VAR is coming live to England.

Well people say VAR destroyed the emotion of the game but think about them who would have felt the injustice if the goal was given. Justice is more important than the irrational emotions of few people. Spurs deserved it and It was the justice to the people. I would have preferred city to go through so that Spurs and united had a chance to get some points and also while they focus on Azax they would have lost points in EPL. At least probability was higher with city into semis but Spurs fought for it. Hopefully they steal points against city in EPL too
