Ferran Torres splits with girlfriend who is Luis Enrique's daughter

Barcelona's Ferran Torres and his girlfriend Sira Martinez have now broken up.

Martinez is the daughter of former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, who won the treble with Barca and managed Torres, 23, with the national team.

Torres' former partner, also 23, is a Spanish showjumper and equestrian rider and is said to have initiated the split to focus on her sporting career and amid 'doubts' about their future together.

Martinez is also a popular social media influencer and has more than 365,000 followers on Instagram.

After meeting while forward Torres was at Manchester City, they began a secret long-distance relationship.

The pair then reportedly made their relationship public after the 2020 European Championships.

It is believed Torres, bought by Barcelona from City last summer, moved to Spain to be closer to Martinez.

The report also claims after having a break several months ago when things were not going well, they tried to rekindle the relationship, but it did not work and it is now finished.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are eyeing up a move for Torres as the cash-strapped Spanish giants look to sell up to raise funds in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
