Atletico Madrid have a policy of offering one-year extensions to players over 30 years of age and they're not making an exception for 33-year-old Filipe Luis.
The left-back's contract expires on June 30 and he is expected to reject the one-year extension being offered.
The relationship between the player and the club started to deteriorate in the summer when he was offered a three-year deal by Paris Saint-Germain.
He wasn't happy at not being allowed to leave in the same manner as Gabi, while the club weren't impressed that the Brazilian wanted to move just a few days before the end of the summer window.
Now it seems that he will leave the Spanish capital as a free agent in the summer.
